Yamanashi is home to many winery with long histories.

Among them is Kai winery, with a history dating back to its founding in Tempo 5 (1834).

As the name implies, it is a winery located in the province of "Kai" from the Sengoku period.
They are even said to possess an official red-seal letter granted by the Takeda clan way back in Tenbun 12 (1543).

What's more, the winery building itself is a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan.
