CHAPTER 01

A New Winery in Toyama Prefecture

When people think of Toyama Prefecture, they usually have a strong image of "delicious fish from Toyama Bay."
However, winemaking has recently been becoming active in Toyama Prefecture as well.

This time, I visited a new winery in Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture: "Domaine Beau".

This winery was established when its president, Mr. Nakayama, decided to set it up at the age of 64.
What kind of wine will they make in Toyama, a land said to be unsuitable for fruit cultivation? Why did he launch this venture at his age?
We dive into his passionate vision.

CHAPTER 02

Vineyards Aiming for IoT Implementation and a Beautiful Winery

Toyama Prefecture is said to be a land unsuitable for fruit cultivation due to its harsh climate.
However, challenges are being taken on to overcome this handicap through the power of science and evolve even further.
We spoke with Mr. Mochizuki, the viticulturist, and Mr. Matsukura, the winemaker, who are taking on this new world.

CHAPTER 03

Distinctive Winemaking with a Fresh New Sensibility

Although it is still a new winery, its wines are incredibly challenging and distinctive!
As we listen to the two people involved in winemaking, we get closer to the essence of Domaine Beau's wines.

How did you enjoy it?

I had never imagined that there was a winery with such innovative ideas in Toyama Prefecture!

Domaine Beau plans to launch various projects in the future to further energize the Tatenohara area.
It is scheduled to become a hub for wine tourism that brings together various businesses, including a cafe, a bakery, and a cheese workshop.
I have a feeling it will become even more interesting in the future, so keep an eye on Domaine Beau!

When you visit Domaine Beau, please meet President Nakayama, listen to his passionate story, and enjoy the beautiful scenery and fine wine!
