St. Cousair Co., Ltd. began rolling out its own wine “Oka no Ue no Hallelujah” in September 2025.
It is available at St. Cousair stores nationwide, the official St. Cousair online shop, and Kuze Fuku Shoten stores, excluding some locations.
Here are the details.
About the Name Change
“Oka no Ue no Hallelujah” is the new name of St. Cousair Winery's popular red wine formerly known as “Ena.”
Customers had commented in stores that the name “Ena” alone made the wine's character difficult to understand, prompting the company to reconsider the name so its appeal would be easier to communicate.
The new name was chosen to make the wine approachable even to customers unfamiliar with wine and to inspire them to want to visit St. Cousair Winery.
How “Oka no Ue no Hallelujah” Tastes
The wine is made entirely from Nagano-grown grapes and aged in oak barrels.
Merlot forms the base, blended with Cabernet Franc and Concord to create a soft, approachable impression in both aroma and flavor.
The palate is smooth, with balanced acidity and tannin, making it easy to enjoy repeatedly and versatile with everyday dishes, including Japanese food.
The unusual blend combines European varieties, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, with the American variety Concord. A gently sweet berry-like finish provides a distinctive accent.
Why not try this popular wine under its new name?
