About Shinano Riesling
Shinano Riesling is a grape variety independently bred by Manns Wine from Riesling as the pollen parent and Chardonnay as the seed parent, and was registered as a variety in 1991.
It shows excellent character in both sweet and dry wines. The sweet wine being released is made using “cryo-extraction,” in which harvested grapes are frozen and then pressed as they begin to thaw.
About the Wine
“Solaris Chikumagawa Shinano Riesling Cryo-Extraction 2024” offers abundant aromatic notes of lychee, apricot, compote of yellow fruits, white rose and jasmine.
It is described as smooth, with sweetness reminiscent of yellow peach and ripe yellow apple, a substantial viscosity, and a pleasant bitterness that carries into the finish.
