About
We have long asked ourselves how more people could feel closer to wine and enjoy it more. After traveling around Japan in search of the right place, we were drawn to Hokkaido. Its cool autumns allow grapes to ripen while retaining both the compounds that contribute to wine aroma and their acidity. Among Hokkaido's wine-growing areas, Otaru especially appealed to us because grapes have long been cultivated there, the city and its drinkers are close at hand, and the region has a rich food culture shaped by both sea and mountains.
Because the number of bottles we can make each year is limited, we value careful, hands-on work with as much affection as possible, handling everything ourselves from grape growing and winemaking to design and sales. Today we cultivate eight varieties in Otaru and Yoichi and produce around 10,000 bottles a year. We work every day toward wines with expressive aromas that complement everyday meals and enrich the table.
