On Saturday and Sunday, March 7–8, 2026, the “9th Chefs Bar in Yatsugatake 2026 — A Feast by Chefs at the Foot of Yatsugatake: Drinks, Bonfires and Music” will be held, bringing together popular local chefs serving their signature dishes.
It is a popular event where visitors can also enjoy Japanese wine.

About the 9th Chefs Bar in Yatsugatake 2026
Chefs Bar in Yatsugatake has been held since 2018.
The event introduces the winter appeal of Yatsugatake and the high quality of the area’s food culture to audiences both inside and outside the prefecture, while helping build a community among producers, breweries and chefs and contributing to the development of Hokuto City’s food culture.
For the ninth edition, chefs from popular restaurants around Hokuto City will again gather under the theme of sharing Yatsugatake’s winter appeal through food, serving dishes made with seasonal local ingredients.
Numerous food and drink booths from local wineries, sake breweries and shops will also participate.
What to Expect
Fourteen leading chefs based in Yatsugatake will gather, including Chef Sano, known as the “Prince of Game,” and Chef Yamashita, dubbed the “Magician of Spices,” alongside specialists in wood-fire cooking, French cuisine, soba, mountain gastronomy, bistro cooking and Italian cuisine.
Drinks will include Yatsugatake Beer Touchdown Kiyosato Lager, winner of a world-best award at the World Beer Awards 2023, the internationally acclaimed sake Shichiken, as well as wine, whisky and shochu born from the region’s famed pure water.
A blind-tasting contest led by a sommelier and workshops are also planned.
It will be a special two days to enjoy Yamanashi wine as well as many other local drinks.
