Bijutsu Shuppan-sha Co., Ltd. will release the Summer 2026 issue of Winart, No. 125, on Friday, June 5, 2026.

The lead feature introduces the climate and landscapes shaping wine in Japan's Chugoku region and the challenges being taken on by its producers.

Feature: Japanese Wine from the Chugoku Region

The main feature of Winart Summer 2026, No. 125, focuses on Japanese wine from the Chugoku region.

Centered on the Chugoku Mountains, the feature explores the climate and growing environments of each area and explains the region's characteristics as a wine-producing zone.

It also reports on-site from 11 wineries, mainly in Hiroshima, Shimane, and Okayama prefectures, exploring the current state of Chugoku wine through producers' ideas and innovations in viticulture and winemaking.

The wineries featured are Hiroshima Miyoshi Winery, Fukuyama Wine Kobo, Vinoble Vineyard & Winery, Okuizumo Vineyard, Shimane Winery, Iwami Winery, domaine tetta, Hiruzen Winery, COLTRADA, GRAPE SHIP, and La Grande Colline Japon.

Special Feature: Rosé Wine

A special feature focuses on rosé wine, which has become a major global trend and is once again attracting growing interest in Japan.

The first half features a roundtable with three importers, while the second half has the owner of ketoku, an izakaya in Gotokuji, Tokyo, proposing relaxed food pairings with rosé for the everyday table.

For Japanese wine fans, the issue offers a substantial look at both today's Chugoku-region wines and rosé.
