Tokyu Group has selected the second original wine to be sold at department stores and supermarkets across the group and served in hotel restaurants.
“Ruri no Shirabe Takayama Blanc 2023” will be featured.
Here are the details.
About the Original Wine Initiative
As part of the comprehensive partnership agreement Tokyu Group has signed with Nagano Prefecture to pursue sustainable regional development with an eye to the future, the group is creating opportunities to spread the appeal of Nagano wine.
Under that initiative, an original wine selected by Tokyu Group sommeliers was released last year.
This is the second installment.
Shinshu Takayama Winery’s “Ruri no Shirabe Takayama Blanc 2023” is scheduled to be offered.
About the Second Original Wine
The second Tokyu Group original wine, Shinshu Takayama Winery’s “Ruri no Shirabe Takayama Blanc 2023,” is a co-fermented white wine made by harvesting and blending several grape varieties from multiple vineyards scattered across Takayama Village, then fermenting them together in the same tank.
With “diversity” as its keyword, it has been crafted as an aromatic wine versatile enough to accompany a wide range of cuisines and occasions.
One of the tasting highlights is the layered complexity created by the individual characters of several varieties, including highly regarded Takayama-grown Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer.
Floral aromas reminiscent of roses mingle with notes of Japanese citrus, while the generous fruit of the excellent 2023 vintage is brought together by refreshing acidity for a pleasant, balanced palate.
