That style has been well received, with sales volume reportedly rising by about 30% year on year.
In response, the company will again release the sparkling nouveau “Nihon no Awa Nouveau 2026,” along with “Château Mercian Japan Nouveau Yamanashi Koshu 2026” and “Château Mercian Japan Nouveau Yamanashi Muscat Bailey A 2026.”

・A red wine made with Yamanashi-grown Muscat Bailey A, featuring bright red-fruit aromas, moderate acidity and tannins.
All three wines are made at the Katsunuma Winery using 100% Japanese grapes harvested in 2026.
