Here are the details.
About “Support the Future of Japanese Wine!”
“Support the Future of Japanese Wine!” is a donation campaign organized by Mercian Corporation to support activities in regions producing grapes for Japanese wines such as Château Mercian.
This year marked the campaign’s eighth edition, running from Monday, September 1 through Sunday, November 30.
Recipients, Amounts and Uses of Support
During the campaign, ¥10 from each bottle sold among approximately 50 eligible Japanese-wine products, centered on Château Mercian, was donated. A total of ¥1,252,000 was distributed to organizations and local governments in Yamanashi, Nagano, Fukushima and Akita prefectures, where Mercian manages its own vineyards or works with contracted growers.
In Yamanashi Prefecture, for example, the donation was made with the hope that it would support initiatives to promote wine-grape production, including Koshu, establish high-quality and stable production techniques, and increase the added value of Japanese wine.
