DOMAINE YUI makes wine in Yoichi Town, Hokkaido.
This land, blessed with bounty from both sea and mountains, contains many Jomon-period archaeological sites, showing that people have lived here since ancient times.
Long hours of sunshine, large day-night temperature differences and winds flowing toward the sea create a climate well suited to fruit growing.
Taking advantage of these conditions, the winery cultivates grapes while relying as little as possible on agricultural chemicals.
Yoichi Town has a relatively mild climate for Hokkaido due to the influence of the warm Tsushima Current flowing north through the Sea of Japan. Summers bring many clear days, and the large temperature difference between day and night makes it possible to harvest grapes that combine excellent ripeness with abundant acidity.
