The Shuzenji Onsen Ryokan Association has created “A Full-Day Izu Wasabi Tour for All Five Senses.”

Along with an in-depth experience of Izu wasabi, the tour is also scheduled to include a wine tasting featuring wines made by Nakaizu Winery.

Here are the details.

About “A Full-Day Izu Wasabi Tour for All Five Senses”

The tour was developed by the Shuzenji Onsen Ryokan Association as part of its efforts to create sightseeing experiences before and after overnight stays, with the aim of making Shuzenji Onsen more appealing amid growth in inbound tourism.

The program includes a special wasabi-harvesting experience in a traditional tatamiishi-style wasabi field, recognized as part of a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System, along with other ways to experience the appeal of the Shuzenji area.

A Visit to Nakaizu Winery Is Included Too!

The tour is scheduled to include learning about wasabi at the Izu Wasabi Visitor Center, a special harvest experience in a tatamiishi-style wasabi field, grating freshly harvested wasabi, and a meal featuring “wasabi rice.”

It will also include tastings of local sake from Bandai Jozo and wine made by Nakaizu Winery.

Participants can additionally try making the local specialty “Omi Tofu,” using famous spring water from Mt. Amagi and high-quality locally grown Fukuyutaka soybeans.

If you would like to explore the Shuzenji area more deeply, why not consider joining the tour?
