On Saturday, October 25, 2025, the Wine & Beer Museum on the second floor of Yurari-kan in Tomi, Nagano will hold the seminar “Connecting Winemaking with the Activities Around It.”
The course is designed to make Tomi wine feel more familiar, and Japanese-wine expert Miyuki Katori will appear as a guest.

About “Connecting Winemaking with the Activities Around It”
The seminar is organized by Tomi City and explores the potential of the regional wine industry while participants experience pairings between local agricultural and livestock products and wine.
Speakers include Miyuki Katori, a specially appointed professor at Shinshu University and a leading authority on Japanese wine, as well as Mr. Sasaki of SASAKI FARM, who raises sheep in the city. Drawing on real voices from production sites, the seminar considers both challenges and possibilities for the future development of Wine City Tomi.
Program Details
Two red and two white wines from Tomi will be served by the glass.
Light food is also scheduled, including lamb dishes using Suffolk hogget from SASAKI FARM and cheese from Atelier de Fromage, allowing guests to experience wine pairings.
Using autumn harvest specialties such as wine, walnuts, cheese, and lamb as themes, the session offers an opportunity to learn about cooperation with agriculture and livestock farming and about building a regional brand.
