Wine-Focused Adult Train Journey: “Chiba Winery Train” Makes Its First Run

A special program has been launched allowing passengers to casually taste rare wines made by four wineries in Chiba Prefecture while aboard the train.

The “B.B.BASE” train, normally used for trips around the Boso Peninsula with bicycles, will operate this time as a special event train for enjoying wine.
Step away from everyday life for a train journey gently scented with wine.

While watching Chiba's rich natural scenery pass by the window, guests can taste carefully selected Chiba wines in a special onboard setting. Here's a closer look at the program.

About the Chiba Winery Train

JR East's Chiba Branch will operate the “Chiba Winery Train” for the first time in collaboration with four wineries in Chiba Prefecture: “Sawa Wines (Yachimata),” “Kujukuri Winery (Kujukuri),” “Funakoshi Winery (Tako),” and “Choshi Wine Brewery (Choshi).” Passengers can travel through Chiba while enjoying local wines.

In addition to tastings of wines made by Chiba wineries (three varieties, 70 ml each), snacks will also be provided.

Winemakers will also introduce their wines.

〇 Participating Wineries

In the event car (Car 4), guests can also enjoy, depending on the day, rum made in Minamiboso with Chiba-grown sugarcane and strawberry liqueur provided by Moriya Shuzo, a sake brewery in Sammu City.
