Long-established Roppongi wine bar Climat is being renewed in its 25th year.
It will relaunch as “Climat — A Vigneronne’s Bar,” led by a female winemaker from Yokoze in Chichibu.
About Climat
In the 1980s, Cave du Forum was a legendary Roppongi establishment beloved as a symbol of Japan’s wine culture.
Carrying on that passionate lineage, Climat opened in 2002 and has continued to attract wine lovers for more than two decades.
As it enters its 25th year, the bar is evolving from simply a place to drink wine into a venue where the maker herself directly communicates its appeal.
Climat × Vigneronne
The renewal concept is “Climat × Vigneronne.”
Misa Shimada, who grows grapes and makes wine at emerging Winery Passion in Ashigakubo, Yokoze, in the Chichibu area of Saitama, will personally serve wine at the counter.
The venue aims to become a unique space where guests can hear directly about the local climate, vineyard soils, and the passion behind each bottle.
Four features of Climat — A Vigneronne’s Bar are:
1. Service and explanation by the winemaker herself: Wine details explained from a producer’s perspective.
2. Wines expressing Chichibu terroir: Original Winery Passion wines shaped by the natural environment of Ashigakubo in Yokoze, Chichibu.
3. Alongside vintage wines: The outstanding old-vintage collection Climat has cultivated over many years remains available.
4. A refined setting with live music: Luxurious acoustic performances enhance the wine experience.
It is a highly original concept unlike most other wine bars.
