On Saturday, February 21, 2026, Hotel Nikko Tsukuba will hold “Enjoy Tsukuba Terroir Through Wine 2025 — Dinner Edition.”
The special event pairs Tsukuba wines with Chinese cuisine.

About “Enjoy Tsukuba Terroir Through Wine”
The project has developed in Tsukuba, the first city in Ibaraki Prefecture to be designated a Tsukuba Wine and Fruit Liquor Special Zone, as a way to experience the appeal of local wine and terroir.
During 2025, the first three installments centered on winery visits and introduced the distinctive wineries around Tsukuba.
As the culmination, the Dinner Edition will pair Tsukuba wine with Chinese cuisine.
About the Dinner
For the dinner, the head chef of Chinese restaurant Toh-Lee personally visited each winery, toured vineyards and spoke with producers to understand each winery's terroir and character, then created a menu inspired by those experiences.
Using seasonal local ingredients and rare products including Iimura beef, sometimes called a “phantom wagyu,” the chef has created a special course designed to highlight each wine's personality.
Six wines, including new releases, from Tsukuba Winery, Tsukuba Vineyard and Bee's Knees Vineyards will accompany the course.
Bee's Knees Vineyards representative Kotoyo Imamura will join a roundtable with hotel sommelier Yuji Iwasa and Toh-Lee head chef Tatsuya Mochizuki to discuss this year's grapes and wines and the individual commitments behind their work.
The program also includes free transportation to Tsukuba Winery in Hojo, Tsukuba, for the first eight event participants who reserve it.
