Tomi City in Nagano Prefecture has launched a new form of hometown tax donation, the on-site payment-based “Tomi Furusato Support Donation® E-Coupon.”
The service will make its first public appearance at Tomi Wine Festa 2026, held on Saturday and Sunday, May 16–17, 2026.
About the “Tomi Furusato Support Donation® E-Coupon”
The “Tomi Furusato Support Donation® E-Coupon” allows visitors to Tomi to make a hometown tax donation on the spot using a smartphone or similar device and receive an electronic coupon according to the donation amount.
The coupon can be used at participating businesses in the city.
With conventional hometown tax donations, gifts are generally delivered to donors' homes after the donation. With this service, the sequence of “visit,” “donate,” and “use” is completed locally.
Debut at Tomi Wine Festa 2026
The “Tomi Furusato Support Donation® E-Coupon” will debut at Tomi Wine Festa 2026.
This year, Tomi Wine Festa 2026 will use the south rotary of Tanaka Station on the Shinano Railway as its main venue for the first time. Wineries and producers from inside and outside Tomi, together with food vendors using local ingredients, will gather for an event celebrating wine and food nurtured by Tomi's terroir.
Tomi is launching the on-site hometown tax donation service to coincide with this opportunity to welcome many visitors.
For every ¥5,000 donated, participants will receive ¥1,500 in vouchers, issued as three ¥500 coupons.
