Nakaizu Winery Château T.S has released the second wine in its new-concept COLLEKARA series.
The second release is a Syrah.
Here are the details.
About the COLLEKARA series
The COLLEKARA series grew from the curiosity and ambition of growers asking whether there are varieties better suited to Izu’s climate and terroir, and wanting to try cultivating new grapes in the region.
The series includes wines made from a variety of grapes grown through that experimentation, as well as wines made through diverse approaches designed by the winemaking team to bring out the appeal of Izu-grown fruit.
It is an innovative series created with the hope that drinkers will taste, enjoy, and watch how these wines change and develop over several years.
COLLEKARA #2 Syrah 2024
The second release is Syrah.
Syrah is a red-wine grape loved around the world for combining power and elegance. Originating in France’s Rhône Valley, it is now cultivated in Australia, the United States, Japan, and many other countries.
COLLEKARA #2 Syrah 2024 is medium ruby in appearance.
It shows medium body and viscosity, pleasant toasted oak aromas, subtle sweet and elegant notes of coffee and chocolate, along with raisin, white pepper, and a slightly inky character.
The palate is soft, with raisin-like fruit and moderate acidity, followed by savory umami that fills the mouth and a long finish.
Production is extremely limited, so the wine is sold only at the Nakaizu Winery shop.
If you visit the winery, why not pick up a bottle?
