It is a unique service that allows continued access to information such as the winery’s approach to grape growing and winemaking and the thoughts of the people behind the wine.
About “SHIMENAWA”
“SHIMENAWA” is a traceability service that uses IC tags, including RFID and NFC, together with blockchain technology to assign unique IDs to physical assets and cards and centrally record and manage related information.
The service supports management functions tailored to different uses, including authenticity verification, records of use and distribution, delivery of digital content through tags, and shipping and inventory management.
About the Service at Sakaki Wine Brewing Co., Ltd.
In this initiative, wines produced by Sakaki Wine Brewing Co., Ltd. are fitted with tamper-detection NFC tags using SHIMENAWA as part of the label.
This allows purchasers to use a smartphone to continue accessing information about the wines, including their characteristics, the producer’s approach to grape growing and winemaking, and the thoughts of the people who make them.
By creating an information touchpoint for each bottle and accurately communicating the story of each product, the initiative aims to give purchasers a deeper understanding of the wine’s character and value while connecting them with the region and the producer behind it. It also seeks to raise awareness of Nagano wine as a whole and strengthen its branding.
