“Nijo Castle 2026 SAKURA NIGHTS Immersive Theatre & Projection Mapping” will be held at Nijo Castle in Kyoto City.
Ticket sales began on February 13.
During the event, Kyoto Winery Shijo Kawaramachi Brewing will also have a booth in the lively plaza area.

About the Event
“Nijo Castle 2026 SAKURA NIGHTS Immersive Theatre & Projection Mapping” is a nighttime event at the World Heritage-listed Nijo Castle featuring three immersive experiences: immersive theater directed by Japan Academy Prize-winning filmmaker Junichi Yasuda, special nighttime viewing of the National Treasure Ninomaru Palace, and projection mapping.
The immersive castle theater production “Onmyoji Mizuki’s Time-Space Battle: Save the Kan’ei Imperial Visit!” combines giant LED imagery with live acting to create a one-of-a-kind experience.
Plenty of Kyoto Food and Drink Too
Alongside the many attractions, the event also offers a strong lineup of Kyoto food and drink.
Visitors can enjoy Nishijin Bakushu, a handcrafted local craft beer, as well as wines from Kyoto Winery Shijo Kawaramachi Brewing, Kyoto City’s first urban winery.
The plaza is arranged with benches on red felt so guests can relax, while food, drinks and shopping are also available at the adjacent Kyoto specialty-products exhibition, rest-area shop and tea stand.
