Hokkaido Wine will hold the “Otaru Wine Carnival” for two days on Saturday and Sunday, August 30–31, 2025.
The 39th edition of the carnival will take place at Miyakodori Shopping Street.

About the Otaru Wine Carnival
The Otaru Wine Carnival had traditionally been held by Hokkaido Wine Co., Ltd. on its own premises under the name “Northern Harvest Festival Wine Carnival in Otaru.”
The 38th edition in September 2024 was announced as the final event, but after receiving many requests to continue it, organizers explored ways to revive the carnival.
As a result, the historic “Wine Carnival” name has been carried forward in the new “Otaru Wine Carnival in Miyakodori Shopping Street.”
What to Expect
The venue is the covered Miyakodori Shopping Street, close to Otaru Station and the canal area.
There will be a premium wine bar selling award-winning wines and special selections by the glass and bottle, plus a section offering six popular “Otaru Series” wines by the glass or bottle and Niagara grape juice made from the same type of grapes used in the company’s wines.
Food booths will also be on hand.
A special blind-tasting competition will challenge visitors to identify wines by taste.
