The “Okayama Hare-Iro Campaign 2026” will be held from September 5 through November 30, 2026, in cooperation with Okayama Prefecture and other partners.
As a special program of the campaign, a tour featuring pairings of Okayama Prefecture wines and local food has gone on sale.
The sightseeing train “La Malle de Bois” will operate between Okayama and Niimi.
Guests can enjoy a journey savoring Okayama wine aboard the sightseeing train.
About the Tour
This tour is a special program of the “Okayama Hare-Iro Campaign 2026.”
The sightseeing train “La Malle de Bois” will run between Okayama and Niimi for a tour featuring Okayama Prefecture wines.
After arriving at Niimi Station, participants will also stop at the limited-time art event “mt project Niimi” and enjoy viewing the artwork.
It is an opportunity to discover Okayama wine and the attractions of Niimi aboard an “art” train.
Tour Highlights
Highlights of the tour include:
(1) Special “La Malle de Bois” service to northern Okayama
・A chartered train will operate on the normally unserved Okayama–Niimi section.
(2) Hospitality onboard
・Ryuta Takahashi, founder of Niimi winery “domaine tetta,” will ride the train and explain the appeal of Okayama wines and how to enjoy them.
・Three wines—sparkling, white and red—will be served, paired with an original boxed meal from the Italian restaurant and confectionery shop Macchia on the outbound trip and sweets from the same shop on the return trip.
・On the return journey, guests can make wine-bottle tags using wood from Niimi City with “Konoha art,” a local group promoting wood use and wood education.
・Each guest will receive one original Okayama Prefecture masking tape.
(3) Visit “mt project Niimi” after arrival at Niimi Station
・Enjoy colorful installations and a limited-edition shop at “mt project Niimi,” a collaboration between the masking-tape brand “mt” and Niimi City.
With “domaine tetta” founder Ryuta Takahashi onboard, this is also an appealing program for Japanese wine fans.
