Furano City is offering a new limited-time tourism plan designed to let visitors enjoy autumn in Furano through wine.
Called “Furano Wine Journey by Taxi,” the program tours local wine destinations.

About the Furano Wine Journey by Taxi
To attract visitors during the quieter autumn season, Furano City has focused on wine, one of the region’s signature products.
The city has created tourism plans centered on Furano Winery that combine wine enjoyment with learning about local history and culture.
Some plans also feature local residents as “wine concierges.” Training sessions have been held to develop guides, with the aim of encouraging broader resident participation and contributing to regional revitalization.
Tour Options
The Furano Wine Journey by Taxi offers two choices: a Compact Plan and a Relaxed Plan with Lunch.
The Compact Plan visits Furano Winery and Domaine Raison in a short amount of time.
At Furano Winery, participants can tour a barrel-aging cellar that is normally closed to visitors.
The Relaxed Plan with Lunch takes guests slowly around three wineries with a guide, followed by a French course lunch featuring abundant local ingredients.
The guide is Hidehiko Koto, a Furano-area wine concierge and former director of the Furano City Grape and Fruit Research Institute.
