Hokkaido Wine Co., Ltd. is offering the “Neighborhood Sushi Pairing Tour,” a winery tour that pairs wine with sushi from a beloved nearby local shop.
Reservations opened on Wednesday, July 1.
“Beyond Sightseeing”
The “Neighborhood Sushi Pairing Tour” is an ultra-local pairing experience planned by Hokkaido Wine.
Rather than partnering with a famous restaurant in a tourist district, the tour deliberately collaborates with a neighborhood sushi shop that local residents visit in everyday life and trust.
In the winery's special underground tasting room, guests can encounter flavors long loved by the local community, offering an experience different from ordinary sightseeing.
Tour Features
The “Neighborhood Sushi Pairing Tour” has three main features:
1. A 110-minute experience beginning with a winery tour
2. Familiar, dependable flavors from a sushi shop near the winery
3. Wines selected so the pairing can also be recreated at home
For the pairing experience, guests can choose either nigiri sushi or nama-chirashi sushi prepared by a local favorite sushi shop.
To help guests enjoy the wine at its best, it will be served at an appropriate temperature in original Hokkaido Wine glasses made by Riedel, the renowned Austrian wine-glass producer.
It is a special tour offering a pairing experience rooted in the local community.
