On Saturday, April 25, 2026, Hokkaido Wine will hold a special “Spring Tasting Flight & Gastronomy” event at Otaru Wine Gallery, its directly operated shop adjoining company headquarters.
The one-day gastronomic sessions make this a must-see event for Japanese-wine fans.
Here are the details.
About “Spring Tasting Flight & Gastronomy”
The event lets guests experience the story of Tsurunuma, Japan's largest vertically trained vineyard, together with the farm manager.
Under the theme “There is a story before every glass,” guests will enjoy a special talk by Farm Manager Saito of Hokkaido Wine's directly managed Tsurunuma Winery, together with 4K footage depicting the farm through the four seasons.
A special two-tier gourmet box created through a collaboration between leading Japanese and Western restaurants in Otaru will be paired with wines shaped by the terroir of Tsurunuma.
Event Highlights
The highlights are:
1. Hear the “journey of the grapes” directly from the producer
2. A collaborative gourmet box by celebrated Otaru restaurants
3. Carefully selected tastings
In addition to the Tsurunuma series, the tasting will feature rare non-commercial vintage wines that are normally unavailable.
For Japanese-wine fans, it is an irresistible opportunity.
