From Monday, September 1 through Sunday, November 30, 2025, Fuji Marriott Hotel Lake Yamanaka will offer “Smoke & Grill Semi-Buffet Dinner — YAMANASHI Wine Mariage.”
The semi-buffet dinner lets guests enjoy Yamanashi’s traditional wine sold in 1.8-liter issho bottles.

About the Dinner
“Smoke & Grill Semi-Buffet Dinner — YAMANASHI Wine Mariage” combines seasonal flavors nurtured by Yamanashi’s climate with the prefecture’s traditional issho-bottle wines.
The buffet makes generous use of seasonal local ingredients, with smoked game, autumn vegetables, fruit, and a choice of main dishes.
A particularly recommended buffet item is roasted “Koshu Wine Ostrich,” raised on feed containing grape pomace produced during winemaking.
Served with smoked salt, the ostrich is said to have a mild flavor and moist, tender texture.
About Yamanashi’s Traditional 1.8-Liter Bottle Wine
The centerpiece of the dinner is wine in 1.8-liter issho bottles, long rooted in Yamanashi food culture.
The tradition began around the end of the Taisho era, when Yamanashi grape growers made wine for household consumption and stored it in empty sake bottles. Drinking the wine generously from teacups or ordinary glasses became a familiar household style.
Even today, local residents continue to enjoy it as a glass before dinner.
