On Monday, May 25, 2026, the “Chikuma River Wine Valley — Shinshu Ueda Region Wine Tasting” will be held at Ueda Tokyu REI Hotel in Ueda, Nagano Prefecture.
The event is divided into three parts for business participants and the general public.
It offers a valuable opportunity to taste wines and ciders from the Shinshu Ueda region while meeting producers.
About the Shinshu Ueda Region Wine Tasting
The event is jointly organized by the Ueda Regional Promotion Bureau, Ueda City and Tomi City.
Its three parts consist of winery visits in Ueda and Tomi, a business matching/tasting session, and a public tasting, allowing participants to gain a deeper understanding of wines from the Ueda region.
The Ueda area in eastern Nagano lies at the heart of the Chikuma River Wine Valley, one of the five principal wine regions identified in the Shinshu Wine Valley Plan 2.0.
Twenty wineries are concentrated across the region’s four municipalities, along with many growers who produce wine grapes for contract winemaking, making it one of Nagano’s leading fine-wine regions.
The event was planned jointly by the regional bureau and the two cities with the aim of sharing the area’s appeal more widely.
Program
Parts 1 and 2 are for industry participants, while Part 3 is for the general public.
Part 1: Winery Visits
Two bus courses are available: an Ueda City route visiting Véraison-Note, Tomorrow Wines and Château Mercian Mariko Winery; and a Tomi City route visiting Cave de Midou, Al Cantu Vigne and the Tomi Wine & Beer Museum.
Each route is limited to 20 participants.

Part 2: Tasting and Producer Matching for Trade
Part 2 offers tasting and meetings with producers for industry professionals.
Wineries scheduled from Ueda include Véraison-Note, Château Mercian Mariko Winery, Tomorrow Wines, Kubota Vineyard, Koaso Farm, Nono Vineyard and Balder Orchard.
From Tomi, exhibitors include Aqua Terra Sol Keiko-an, Al Cantu Vigne, Villa d’Est Winery, 496 Winery, Nagomi Vineyards, Rue de Vin, Shikanosuke Manzo and Yone Farm Tomi.

Part 3: Public Shinshu Ueda Region Wine Tasting
The public tasting will be held in Shinano on the 3rd floor of Ueda Tokyu REI Hotel.
Around 20 wine producers from the Ueda region—Ueda, Tomi, Nagawa and Aoki—will offer tastings and light food.

The public tasting uses a ticket system:
- Advance reservation: ¥3,000 / 10 tickets, including light food for one person
- No advance reservation: ¥3,000 / 9 tickets
- Additional same-day tickets: ¥1,000 / 3 tickets
Payment is in cash on the day.
A Full Day with Shinshu Ueda Wine
Within the Chikuma River Wine Valley, the Ueda region is attracting particular attention for producing high-quality wines.
Opportunities for so many of its wineries and producers to gather in one place are rare.
