“Wai! Wai! Wine! ... and more — New Encounters Woven by AI” is currently being held at the event hall on the 7th floor of Kyoto Takashimaya S.C. (department store).
It is a unique event where AI helps visitors choose wines to suit their tastes.
The event runs through Monday, November 24 (a national holiday).

“Wai! Wai! Wine! ... and more — New Encounters Woven by AI” is designed for people who want to enjoy wine but are not sure what to choose. AI provides personalized support in selecting a bottle.
The venue also features a bar area where visitors can enjoy wine, beer and whisky.
On Saturday the 22nd and Sunday the 23rd, students from Kyoto City University of Arts will perform violin and flute duets, creating an opportunity to enjoy a pairing of music and wine.
About the AI Wine Diagnosis
At the diagnosis booth, visitors first choose one category—red, white or sparkling—and taste a sample.
They then rate the wine on a 10-point scale, after which the AI recommends wines within that category based on their preferences.
Examples include Japanese wines such as Domaine Beau Azumino Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot and Takahata Winery Yoshi Sparkling Chardonnay.
In the BAR area, wines made at Kyoto Winery are also being served alongside popular restaurant dishes.
It is an event worth checking out for Japanese wine fans as well.
