The 52nd Wine Festival in Nanyo will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 on the prefectural road and parking area in front of Ekubo Plaza, Akayu Community Center.
The festival offers the chance to drink, dance and talk with winemakers from six wineries in Nanyo, Yamagata Prefecture.

About the 52nd Wine Festival in Nanyo
The event is organized by the Nanyo City Wine Village Development Committee, made up of six local wineries, the chamber of commerce, tourism association, ryokan association and other organizations. Its purpose is to help people become familiar with Nanyo wine and enjoy it casually.
One of the festival's biggest attractions is the opportunity to drink, dance, eat and talk. A leading Tokyo DJ appears as a guest, a prefectural road in the Akayu Onsen district is closed to traffic and transformed into a special venue, and booths feature six local wineries plus food businesses from inside and outside Yamagata.

Visitors can speak directly with six distinctive producers and hear first-hand stories about grape growing and winemaking that are rarely available in everyday settings.
Food booths will serve inventive dishes designed to pair with wine, including pizza using grape pomace, Yonezawa beef roast beef and horse-meat Bolognese.
